History of Fashion and Culture for centuries has provided Artist, Designers, Musicians and Writers with very valuable resources of reference for inspiration. Through this course you will trace the many ways it has been reinterpreted over the last 350 years.
Starting in the 17th century, you will review in a snap shot how events in history have influenced fashion as we know it. When students opt to study fashion, they actually have very superficial knowledge about what it entails based on some visual referencing to magazines, movies and fashion shows. To succeed, its always important to know a subject of choice in its complete entity, this course will help you built a solid foundation of knowledge to the evolution of Fashion and its journey to the present. You will also be able to unravel how everything is interconnected and "Fashion is a reflection of time". The key skill that you will acquire post the course will be "Creative Thinking".
Each class session talks about what was relevant in Fashion and Culture in the past. This knowledge will leave you with deeper insights and understanding that will help to build upon its relevance today. It will be of lifelong value to you.
